We’ve driven past San Simeon so many times, but had never stopped at Hearst Castle. Our favorite neighbors had just taken a trip there a week before and were raving about its grandeur and beauty, so we had to visit. As I walked up the steps, I understood why Mr. William Randolph Hearst formally named it “La Cuesta Encantada” (“The Enchanted Hill”). It truly is enchanted, its architecture and gardens are simply breathtaking. I stood on the Veranda looking west towards the Pacific Ocean and was reminded of just how blessed I was to be standing here and living in California. We captured a little bit of its beauty in these photos, I hope you enjoy them. Stop by and visit next time you’re nearby.
